Apr. 18--FORT WAYNE, Ind.--State officials will meet with laid-off Seyfert's workers next week as one of Fort Wayne's best-known companies prepares to relocate its production and headquarters to a Kansas City, Mo., suburb.
General Products and Services, known locally for its Seyfert's brand of salty snacks, plans to permanently close its plant at 1001 Paramount Road on June 17.
The shutdown will eliminate 90 local production positions and 20 administrative positions. About 160 sales people, including 40 in Fort Wayne, will not be affected by the relocation. The United Food and Commercial Workers, which represents production employees both in Fort Wayne ...
