Apr. 18--EchoStar Communications said its Dish Network satellite TV service on Monday began carrying four of Indianapolis' local television channels, eliminating the need for a separate antenna to pull them in.
The Littleton, Colo.-based company, one of two main providers of satellite programming nationwide, is the first in Indianapolis to take advantage of a change in federal law last year allowing the satellite programmers to carry local TV stations.
To receive the transmissions, Dish Network subscribers will need the company's latest satellite dish, which is two inches larger than its older dishes.
