The North Carolina Highway Patrol has been advised by South Carolina officials that Interstate 85 in the Greenville/Spartanburg/Gaffney area around mile post 72 is snarled with traffic.
Approximately 200 automobiles are either stranded or abandoned and close to two dozen tractor trailer trucks have been involved in accidents.
For their comfort and safety, The North Carolina Highway Patrol recommends motorists travelling to or through South Carolina on Interstate-85 delay their trips if at all possible until the roadway can be cleared. This could ...
