Mafikeng International Airport in the northwest province of South Africa is to be developed into a key `aviation cluster' project according to Minister of Transport Frans Vilakazi, writes Doug Birch.
A tender to undertake the airport's development, called for late last year by the northwest provincial government, was won by the African Airport Redeployment Consortium, whose members include tribal authorities and the China South Africa Trade and Investment Promotion Centre.
