When the unincorporated community of Bonita Springs became a city (pop. 29,000) on Dec. 31, it underscored the steady urbanization of Lee County from Fort Myers to Bonita Springs, 25 miles to the south. Already Bonita Springs has the hallmark of hundreds of Florida cities before it: lots of real estate action.
