Disproving misconceptions about date rape and date-rape drugs will be the subject of "Crushed," the College of Lake County's first play written, produced and directed by the college's students and faculty.
The idea behind "Crushed," said Diane Williams, faculty member at CLC who wrote the play, is to show date rape can happen to anyone.
"You don't have to be in a bar, drinking (alcohol) necessarily or looking for trouble," said Williams, adding many incidents occur at parties where the victim knows the host. "I wanted to dispel who can be a victim and who can be victimizing."
