Natural Gas Industry Encouraged by Alternate Fuels Legislation
The natural gas industry is trying to convince the nation to switch from diesel and gasoline to natural gas to power its fleet of trucks and buses.
Such a change will reduce pollution and create a new market for abundant fuel supplies, the industry added. They also hope it will boost the financial fortunes of the stagnant industry.
Therefore, natural gas industry groups were encouraged by a bill approved last month by the Senate Commerce Committee that would offer mileage credits to automakers who include cars in their fleets that use alternate fuels.
