The American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago and Fleet Feet Sports have joined forces to help runners reach their goal of completing a 12.4 mile race while helping to fight lung disease, the third leading cause of death and disability in the United States.
The Lung Power Training Team is a 13-week program that begins this week and continues through June 25. It will prepare first-time or experienced runners for the 24th Chicago Distance Classic, which will be on July 9. This event, the oldest and one of the most popular races in Chicago, benefits the lung association.
