Dean Foods Co. is in the midst of revamping itself as it prepares to move its headquarters from Franklin Park to Rosemont.
Scheduled to be complete by mid-2001, the headquarters move to a six-story building in the O'Hare Gateway Office Center at Bryn Mawr Avenue and River Road is symbolic as well.
The new digs are meant to improve operations but the move is also indicative of a company scrambling to keep pace with consolidation, technology and changing American tastes.
The nation's No. 2 dairy, Dean is a Chicago-area institution, operating since 1925. But the dairy business has changed since those early growth years.
