Starting Monday, those living in northeast Palatine can cuddle up next to a cozy fireplace and read a best seller like John Grisham's "The Brethren" at a new Rand Road branch library.
The branch, opening at 3 p.m. in the Northeast Palatine Community Center at 1585 N. Rand Road, will offer all the latest in books, CDs, videos and DVDs, according to officials at the Palatine Public Library District.
The latest movies like "Lake Placid," "Ed TV," "The Matrix" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" are available on video tape and/or DVD, said Linda Zeilstra, Northeast outreach manager who runs the Rand Road branch and book mobile.
