First of all, you don't need a boat. If you've seen "A River Runs Through It," you know that fly fishermen cast from shore.
And when you're not fishing, you still can practice. Plenty of fly fishermen hone their fly skills by repeating the intricate process in their homes or with fishing buddies.
Plus, you don't have to target a specific species like muskie or bass as you would with a lure or minnow. With fly fishing, all species will bite.
