Edward Hospital officials lost their first shot Thursday at winning state approval for a proposed $92 million heart hospital in Naperville.
The Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board voted 4-3 against Edward's proposal. Eight members of the board either did not vote or were absent.
Edward Hospital President Pam Davis said officials will try again for approval as early as March after reviewing the board's comments and developing responses. According to state rules, Edward can return to the board a second time to try to prove its case.
