TEACHER PUSHES STUDENTS' LIMITS\ SUSAN SKINNER WILL GET NATIONAL AWARD FOR THE INNOVATIVE METHODS SHE USES IN HER SPECIAL EDUCATION CLASSROOMS.

Then she points to the lines and says, "Now these are veins in the body. Where does blood go?"

To blood cells, the students answer.

The North Asheboro Middle School teacher then fires off other questions like: What do cells need to stay healthy; What are platelets; What are plankton?

Skinner expects her exceptional/special education students to know the answers. It doesn't matter to her that they are behaviorally, emotionally and mentally challenged. They've been over this subject at least five times and she excepts no excuses.
