H. Richard Kahler, president of Cat China, told the Senate Commerce Committee today that approval of China Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) status is needed to ensure the competitiveness of American companies like Caterpillar that see the Chinese market as an important key to their growth strategies.
This year, Caterpillar's business in China will approach a third of a billion dollars in revenue -- a substantial portion of which is direct exports from the United States.
