Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59 school board members hired a contractor this week to make the entrance to the district's administration center more accessible to people in wheelchairs.
In a 5-2 vote, the board hired The Dubs Co. of Elgin for the $107,408 project.
The entrance to the center, at 2123 S. Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights, will face south, instead of west as it does now.
The two sets of double doors will be spaced farther apart to make it easier for those in wheelchairs to roll through the doors.
