New Delhi, May 4 Asia Pulse - The Indian Government has asserted in the upper house that it would take all measures to protect domestic industry against cheaper imports by using tariff measures and would not hesitate to impose countervailing duties and safeguard actions if situation so warranted.
"For the protection of domestic industry, including SSI units, government can utilise the mechanism of raising the applied tariffs within the bound rates," the Indian Commerce and Industries Minister Murasoli Maran said.
