The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group's International Development Association (IDA) agreed that Uganda has met the conditions for its completion point under the enhanced Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) Initiative. Debt-service relief under the enhanced HIPC Initiative, from all Uganda's creditors, is about US$1.3 billion (US$660 million in net present value terms or about two-fifths of external debt).
