THE BIRTHDAY BOOK CLUB
"Reading has been so wonderful for my daughter," says Catherine Cropper of her daughter Kristen, who has cerebral palsy. It was Catherine's idea to turn Kristen's twelfth birthday party into a lesson in giving. She called the library in her hometown of Madison, New Jersey, and asked if Kristen's friends could donate books to the children's library in her honor-and the Birthday Book Club was born.
