EVANSTON, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2000
2000 will be the first year in which the impact of e-commerce will result in a major reduction in the number of paper catalogs mailed by the leading catalog companies in the U.S., according to Maxwell Sroge, leading catalog consultant and operator of the Catalog-News.com web site.
Sroge estimated that the total number of catalogs which will be dropped from mailing schedules this year could total as high as 1.5 billion copies, worth an estimated 450 million dollars in printing and paper costs alone.
