May 2--The Enumclaw School District received $2.2 million of the $42 million in grants the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation awarded Monday to improve teaching and enhance technology in Washington schools.
The South King County school district was one of eight in Washington, and the only one in the South Sound, to share in the pot.
"It's an exciting morning for the children of Enumclaw," said Art Jarvis, superintendent of the 5,300-student school district.
Jarvis envisions the grant supporting technology projects and much more.
"The intent of the grant is to support endeavors that already are under way in the Enumclaw School District," ...
