GERMAN industrialist, Siegfried Bettman, who adopted Coventry and became mayor of the city in 1913, was also a great benefactor.
"He showed great generosity to charitable causes in later life, and as early as 1908 had underwritten a rescue package to save Coventry Godiva Harriers from folding," writes club member, Colin Kirkham. (Any Questions, April 13)
