Brazilian ferroalloys producer CBMM (Companhia Brasileira de Metalurgia e Mineracao) will inaugurate this week a new plant in Araxa, State of Minas Gerais. It demanded investments of US$85mil and will enable the company to lift its production capacity from 50,000 to 84,000 tons of niobium concentrates per year. CBMM, a joint venture between the Moreira Sales group (55%) and Molycorp (45%), reported a net operating revenue of R$412.9mil last year - it operates in Brazil, Germany and Japan.
