Drawing the line between hosting meetings and endorsing the content of those meetings can be a tough call for libraries.

That's why the Rolling Meadows Library is beefing up its rules regarding who can use the library's meeting rooms and what they can talk about.

New library Executive Director David C. Ruff recommended clarifying the library's meeting room policies in a couple of ways.

First, make it clear that for-profit organizations cannot use the library meeting rooms. Second, post meeting room rules in the meeting rooms so that patrons, not just speakers, can see them.
