Putting its imprimatur on the migration of e-commerce to the Internet, ALLTEL has announced that its mortgage industry clients will now be able to connect to the Alltel InterChange data network via the Internet. The initiative will offer easier, cheaper access to Alltel's Interchange for those clients who do not process large volumes of transactions. Alltel's value-added network (VAN), the mortgage industry's largest, is not cost effective for small service providers to access.
