When Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce vacated its branch in the headquarters of BCTel, VanTel Credit Union saw a golden opportunity. After all, the employees working in the building were the very ones served by VanTel. But it took credit union General Manager Terry Audette nearly three years to negotiate the lease, and in the meantime, BCTel merged with Telus, which now serves both British Columbia and Alberta.
