Betsy Armistead has been with the Prairie Center for the Arts since six months before its inception in 1985, and she remains excited about its future.
In her role as director, Armistead applies more than 20 years of entertainment programming experience, including seven years at the Hemmens Auditorium in Elgin.
She said it's fulfilling both to find new acts and to bring back old favorites, such as the Nebraska Theater Caravan's version of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" and the Schaumburg Dance Ensemble's performance of "The Nutcracker" that take place each holiday season.
