North to El Salvador: "Fill 'er Up'
The involvement of the Salvadoran government in Lieut. Col. Oliver North's contra resupply operation was barely touched by the Iran/contra committees. Their final report noted only that the North network operated out of an unnamed military base in an unnamed country with the cooperation of an unnamed commander. That base is Ilopango Air Force Base in El Salvador; the commander, Gen. Juan Rafael Bustillo.
