The nation's ports are having to juggle their booming billion-dollar business with the demands of increasingly noisy neighbours.
Australian ports are bracing themselves for a new waterfront battle. Unlike the industrial disputes of the past this battle will be more complex and omnipresent, requiring sophisticated long-term strategies to deal with a changing kaleidoscope of social, political and environmental pressures.
