MCGILLICUDDY ELECTED NEW YORK FEDERAL RESERVE DIRECTOR

NEW YORK, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- John F. McGillicuddy, chairman of Manufacturers Hanover Corp. and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co., was elected today to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

He succeeds Lewis T. Preston, chairman of J.P. Morgan & Co., Inc. and Morgan Guaranty Trust Co., who resigned on Feb. 1. McGillicuddy's term as a Class A director runs until Dec. 31, 1988.

McGillicuddy was elected by the group of 10 large banks -- those with capital and surplus of more than $400 million -- eligible to vote in the election to fill the board vacancy.
