Personal Income, Spending to Be Eyed NEW YORK -- With the Federal Reserve's 50-basis-point rate tightening now old news and the Federal Open Market Committee's March meeting minutes released, the week ahead offers a blank slate where the response to the recent Fed action will be written. Economists are asking whether sharp rate tightenings will slow the economy, or will be so ignored by the markets that the Fed will attempt to make itself heard through further rate hikes.
