While the more popular beaches sometimes find the crowds blanket-to-blanket, you can usually wander down a "Jersey shore" to find your own private place in the sun; even a popular beach like Long Beach Island has uncrowded spots.
There are 127 miles of curving coastline in New Jersey, stretching from the northernmost tip of Sandy Hook to the southernmost tip of Cape May Point, the tiny beach point that sits in the shadow of the Cape May Lighthouse.
