A Hampshire police sergeant was waiting to be released from Centegra Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock on Monday after suffering a stroke during his shift early Friday evening.
Sgt. Greg Sears was listed in good condition late Monday afternoon, and doctors were expected to release him soon, said a hospital spokesperson.
Sears was discovered slumped over the steering wheel of his squad car on the shoulder of the road along Route 23 in Marengo around 6 p.m. Friday, said Hampshire Police Chief Tom Atchison.
