Confucius was such an inspiring teacher that his fame and influence have lasted for centuries. Historians write that his concern for education led him to open a school. At the time, most upper-class Chinese, including daughters, learned how to read and write at home. Young men who had government positions received on-the-job training from their superior officers.
Confucius' school was not like your school today. The students (young men, not boys or girls) had no classroom or text books, no written homework or weekly tests.
