ACADEMICS
Carol Thompson, associate professor of speech communications at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, received the Ted and Virginia Bailey University Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching, which included a $10,000 cash prize, at UALR's 12th annual Faculty Excellent Awards last month. Ralph Burns, associate professor of English, received the Faculty Excellence Award for research and a $5,000 cash prize, and Jeffrey B.
