Ray Allen is the best shooting guard ever drafted by the Timberwolves.
His tenure with them, though, lasted about as long as it took NBA commissioner David Stern to announce a couple of draft picks and have Allen and Stephon Marbury switch baseball caps.
That's how Allen, a smooth, sweet-shooting guard from the University of Connecticut, wound up heading to the Milwaukee Bucks on draft night in June 1996, packaged along with center Andrew Lang for the rights to Marbury.
