Thomas Grant surrendered his car, agreed to see a counselor and promised not to leave Minnesota without the court's permission when he appeared in Waseca County District Court on Monday.
But the 59-year-old Waseca real estate agent gave no explanation about why he vanished three weeks ago after failing to appear at a show-cause hearing in civil court. The hearing was ordered to determine what happened to $245,000 that had been entrusted to Grant from the estate of a Waseca woman.
Accompanied by Waseca attorney John McLoone, Grant surrendered to authorities Monday and appeared before District Judge Renee Worke, who ordered him to return for the show-cause ...
