YESTERDAY was the 60th anniversary of Dunkirk, when we had the right to call ourselves not only British but Great British, as certain defeat was turned into a victory of the human sprit and of courage.
No-one was ordered to rescue the troops. They did not need to be. There was a job to be done and to help was as instinctive as it was spontaneous. Our soldiers were in trouble and the people, the ordinary people, would bring them home safe.
