Kent Shigetomi is now president, CEO and acting chief operating officer of machine-tool builder Okuma America Corp. As president he succeeds John Hendrick, who has been named chairman of the firm by its parent company Okuma Corp. (Oguchi, Japan). The American company has an annual turnover of around $400-million.
Hendrick, who has been president since 1989, becomes the first American
chairman of the U.S. firm. His new position give him more policy-making
responsibilities.
