Starting with the new millennium, Cross Huller will move out of the transfer line plant in Fraser, Mich., that predecessor Cross Co. built in 1955. The North American arm of the Thyssen Production Systems subsidiary will manufacture all new major machine orders out of its Port Huron, Mich., factory, which was custom-built in 1980.
The Port Huron plant, located about 45 miles north of the current Fraser headquarters, covers 144,000 sq. ft. and has features like an in-floor coolant system and I-beam reinforcements that simulate factory production conditions.
At the same time the builder will relocate admin, sales, and engineering functions to the town ...
