Jun. 2--When Philip F. Blumberg becomes chairman of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce this weekend, he'll be following in the footsteps of his late father who also chaired the chamber.
Current Chairman Jose Cancela, president of Radio Unica, will relinquish his post to Blumberg on Saturday during the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce's annual Goals Conference -- the most important chamber event of the year and a prime opportunity for business networking.
It will be the first time a father and son have both held the chamber's chairmanship. The late David Blumberg, the developer of Cutler Ridge, was chairman from 1971 to 1972.
