Michigan restaurants doubled their expectations for a strong Mother's Day this year, according to a follow-up survey conducted by the Michigan Restaurant Association (MRA).
In a pre-holiday survey, members estimated a 10 percent increase over last year's sales. Instead, sales were up an average of 20 percent this year. About 71 percent of those surveyed said sales were higher than expected.
