Hot Flashes in Breast Cancer Survivors by 60 Percent

NEW ORLEANS, May 22 /PRNewswire/ --

A study conducted by the North Central Cancer Treatment Group (NCCT), a cooperative cancer research group based at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., found that venlafaxine, a non-hormonal antidepressant, alleviates hot flashes by an average of 60 percent in breast cancer survivors. The data from the study was presented today at the 36th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
