A Woodbury man has been charged with a felony drug crime after investigators seized thousands of doses of an illegal drug that can be used in date rapes and could cause seizures, comas and death, police said Friday.
Kyle J. Anderson, 27, was arrested at his apartment after investigators searched it and found 70 32-ounce bottles containing a drug called GBL, which converts in the body to another illegal substance called GHB, said Woodbury narcotics officer Dave Brennan.
It's believed to be the largest seizure of GBL in the state and one of the first arrests under a new Minnesota law, enacted in August 1999, that bans GBL, Brennan said.
