1/3 Elvis Presley isn't here yet, but it's early.
It's Friday night at Raceway Park in Shakopee, but The King still has more than an hour to get here before the racing begins. The track has two signs reserving parking spots for Elvis, in case he makes the ultimate comeback.
Tonight's event is billed "Friday Night Destruction," warning spectators that racing with a side order of mayhem is on the menu. Owner John Hellendrung says Sunday's NASCAR events at Raceway - featuring Late Models, Figure-8s, Hobby Stocks, Short-trackers and Bombers - usually attract more serious race fans. Tonight's crowd of about 2,100 wants the drivers to dash and crash. ...
