1/3 Bill Fuhrmann, shifting his weight from skate to skate impatiently, was trying to explain the appeal of the Friday Night Skate, a bimonthly event that is essentially an informal parade of inline skate enthusiasts through downtown Minneapolis.
He mentioned the social aspect - skaters normally roll around the lakes or on the river trails by themselves. This was a chance to rove in a pack. He mentioned it being a way to promote the Minnesota Inline Skate Club. And he did mention the word exercise. Then he gave up trying to explain.
"Heck, there's no value in it; it's just fun."
