1/3 Just before they shut the coffin, David Hall Jr. took one last look at his only daughter and silently promised her that he would steer as many kids as he could from the drugs, gangs and fatal choices that led to her killing.
Terri Hall, a 19-year-old from St. Paul, was shot to death on New Year's Day 1994 in Omaha. Authorities say she was an innocent witness to a drug-related robbery. Her boyfriend had begun selling crack, and both of them were killed while she was visiting Omaha for the holidays.
The double slaying ended the hopes of a young woman who planned to study psychology at the University of Minnesota so that she could help people.
