1/3 Everything about the Minnesota State Fair is big. The numbers are particularly huge when it comes to food at the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
Chew on this: There are 241 food vendors selling at 310 locations throughout the fairgrounds' 360 acres. Nine of those locations are devoted solely to the Pronto Pup, the batter-covered hot dog on a stick that has been a fair staple for 52 years.
The pup's culinary cousin, the corn dog, is sold at three booths. The difference between the two? Pronto Pups are made with a flour batter, and the corn dog is dipped in a cornmeal mixture.
