1/3 Marjorie Johnson whisked by the waterfall of Minnesota State Fair blue ribbons draped from four crowded shelves in her Robbinsdale home. "Do you smell that?" she asked, eyes aglow. Without waiting for a reply, she followed her nose and her heart into the kitchen and prepared to satisfy the appetite of a winner.
The 4-foot-8-inch grandmother, who seems to race and speak at a 78-revolutions-per-minute pace in a 33 1/3-rpm world, had gotten a whiff of her rolls coated with orange rind, which were just about ready to come out of the oven.
