Saltwater fish tanks have become increasingly dramatic home-design accouterments.
These are not glorified goldfish bowls. Saltwater fish fans see their custom-made tanks as living art, with life-and-death action plus educational value, even as they bemoan them as maintenance nightmares.
The use of acrylic instead of glass means that bigger tanks can be built, with bigger fish inside. Filtration systems can be hidden so that the tanks blend into the decor.
