1/3 Jimmy Robinson, who died in 1986 at age 88, was the most notable Minnesota sportsman of this century.
Here's why:
When Jimmy traveled, he stayed at Hilton Hotels. At check-out time, he produced no cash or credit cards. Instead he signed Barron Hilton's name to the bill. And walked.
When he published books of his hunting stories, Jimmy called friends - including the late Robert O. Naegele, founder of the outdoor advertising business that bore his name, and Vern Aanenson, owner of Old Dutch Foods.
"How many copies can I send you?" Jimmy would ask.
The minimum order, Naegele and Aanenson knew, might be 5,000 copies.
